Important Information Regarding a Firm's First IARD Filing
Choose "Apply for registration as an investment adviser with the SEC" if:
- You would like to submit an application to register with the SEC as an investment adviser.
Choose "Apply for registration as an investment adviser with one or more states" if:
- You would like to submit an application to register with one or more states as an investment adviser.
- Note: advisers applying for registration with one or more states may also choose to file an initial report as an exempt reporting adviser with the SEC and/or one or more states at the same time.
Choose "File an Initial Report as an Exempt Reporting Adviser with the SEC" if:
- You would like to file a report with the SEC as an exempt reporting adviser.
- Note: advisers filing an initial report as an exempt reporting adviser with the SEC may also choose to apply for registration with one or more states and/or file an initial report as an exempt reporting adviser with one or more states at the same time.
Choose "File an Initial Report as an Exempt Reporting Adviser with one or more states" if:
- You would like to file a report with one or more states as an exempt reporting adviser.
- Note: advisers filing an initial report as an exempt reporting adviser with one or more states may also choose to apply for registration with one or more states and/or file an initial report as an exempt reporting adviser with the SEC at the same time.
What are the fees associated with filing through IARD and how do I pay them?
There are SEC and state registration and filing fees associated with filing through IARD. Specific fees and more information may be found on the IARD Fees and Accounting page. A filer must have sufficient funds deposited into their IARD Daily Account to cover any registration fees, filing fees, and notice filing fees before the IARD system will accept the submission of a Form ADV.
